I personally believe that 2012 is the year of renewed hope — and NOT the end of world as it is hyped by some. Actually, 2012 is the year of the Dragon, if you wish to follow the ways of the Chinese Calendar. Nonetheless, it’s a breath of fresh air to be starting a new year with the anticipation of renewed hope. We all believe in renewed hope for our personal lives. It is the hope of avoiding last year’s mistakes – whatever that may be. For some, we hope a better tomorrow either for ourselves or for loved ones. It could well be hope in itself! Perhaps it is to grow in a friendship / relationship, or maybe to strive to get promoted or even get your foot in a job that you’ve long searched for. It could well be to tend to your health, or to spend more quality time with friends and family. No matter what – we all long for renewed hope. However, we cannot live by our own might and strength and achieve this miraculous hope by ourselves (Proverbs 3:5-6) – we need to fix our eyes on something greater – a prize whose price that you cannot tag, because of its indescribable value. Of course, I am speaking about the hope in Christ.

Our vision may be blurred and speckled with drops of rain, but we do have a sense of what to expect, but let us hope in the unexpected and find our answers and hope towards the heavenward that is in Christ Jesus.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. –Philippians 3:14 (NLT)
